There are many different types of scams we deal with
Fraudsters offer false investment opportunities promising high returns or guaranteed profits, aiming to steal money or sensitive financial details.
Scammers create fake online profiles on dating websites or social media platforms to establish romantic relationships and then manipulate victims into sending money or personal information.
Scammers create fake online stores or auction listings to deceive buyers into paying for goods or services that do not exist or are of poor quality.
Fraudsters offer fake job opportunities, requiring payment for training materials or background checks, or obtaining personal information for identity theft.
Fraudsters pretend to be someone else in order to scam you. The impersonator might pretend to be someone you know, like a family member or friend, or they might pretend to be from a company or organization that you trust, like your bank, a government agency, or a well-known business.
Everyday thousands of people in the UK fall victim to complex scams and fraud! These can be in the form of cold-calling, scam emails and text messages. A lot of the scams involve people transferring large sums of money to the scammers, either to pay for non-existent goods, cryptocurrency or to a fake romance. Some scams even involve fake websites, pretending to be legitimate government organisations!
Scams and fraud claims can be extremely complex. Often money is paid into several different bank accounts and as a result, people can become confused as to where to start in reclaiming their hard-earned, but now lost funds.
