Regulatory Information: The FCA has issued, and continues to issue, important updates on vehicle finance mis-selling and the proposed compensation scheme. On 30th March 2026, The FCA published their decision to introduce a scheme for all customers affected. For any loans taken after 1st April 2014, the scheme will begin on 30th June 2026. For loans taken prior to 1st April 2014, the scheme will begin on 31st August 2026. If you complain before the scheme, your claim will be assessed sooner and any compensation due will also be paid sooner. COULD YOU BE OWED COMPENSATION?
Car finance may have been mis-sold if important details were not properly explained before you signed the agreement. This can include how the finance worked, the total cost, the interest rate, any commission paid to the broker or dealer, and whether the agreement was actually affordable for you from the start. PCP and HP agreements can be more complex than they first appear, so if key terms, risks or costs were not made clear, you may have grounds to make a claim. With PCP in particular, monthly payments are usually followed by a final balloon payment if you want to own the car at the end, which is why it is important that the agreement is explained clearly and sold fairly.
